By

MG Comet EV : The MG Comet EV is MG’s smallest all-electric car in India, built specifically for city life. It packs a surprising amount of modern technology into a compact, boxy body that looks futuristic and stands out in traffic.

With its sleek two-door design, full-width LED lighting, and clean surfaces, the Comet EV delivers a fantastic look that feels more like a premium urban gadget than a traditional budget hatchback.

Urban-Ready Design That Looks Futuristic

From the front, the Comet EV has dual-element LED headlights and a full-width LED daytime running light bar that gives it a wide, modern appearance.

The charging port sits in the middle of the fascia and features an illuminated MG logo, which adds a premium touch. Below the bumper, there is a low air vent flanked by indicator lights, keeping the face clean and purposeful.

The side profile is tall and boxy with a “tallboy” silhouette, making it easy to see out of and easy to pack four people inside.

The white-on-black wheel covers on its 12-inch steel wheels, along with the extended rear window line, give it a distinctive look that is both playful and contemporary.

At the rear, LED taillights and a full-width lighting element below the rear windshield reinforce the high-tech impression.

High-Tech Cabin With Dual Screens

Inside, the Comet EV breaks the mold for small electric cars with a twin-screen layout. It features two 10.25-inch displays: one for the fully digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system.

Both screens float on a sleek dashboard in Starlight and Space Grey themes, creating a modern and airy cabin feel. This dual-screen setup is a segment-first feature for a mass-market EV in India.

The cabin also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seat upholstery, and sleek AC vents on the center console with rotary knobs for climate control.

Despite its compact exterior, the interior offers spacious seating with additional legroom for all four occupants.

The connected-car tech through i-Smart brings more than 55 smart features into the driving experience, making daily commutes feel more intelligent and convenient.

Connected Car Features And Smart Technology

The MG Comet EV is loaded with technology that makes it feel more like a smart device than a normal car.

It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so your phone integrates seamlessly with the infotainment system.

The 17.78 cm LCD digital cluster displays all your driving data clearly, while Bluetooth music, OTA updates, and 6 speakers with 3 USB ports keep the cabin connected and entertaining.

Keyless entry with a smart start system lets you unlock and start the car without fumbling for a key.

The vehicle also supports over 30 Hinglish voice commands, so you can control navigation, music, and climate settings with simple spoken instructions.

With Level 2 connected features, remote controls, live navigation, and smart alerts, the Comet EV brings a premium tech experience to an affordable urban EV.

Efficient Powertrain And Practical Range

Under the skin, the Comet EV uses a 17.3 kWh high-tech prismatic cell battery paired with a powerful PM motor that produces 42 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque.

On a single charge, it delivers up to 230 km of range, which is enough for most daily city commutes and short inter-city trips. The battery is IP67-rated for water and dust protection, adding to its reliability in Indian conditions.

The car supports AC charging with a 7.4 kW charger, taking about 2.5 to 3.5 hours for a full charge, while a 3.3 kW charger takes around 7 hours.

It does not support DC fast charging, but the charging time is practical for urban owners who can charge at home or at work.

The top speed sits between 100 km/h and 106 km/h, making it ideal for city driving and highway cruising within safe limits.

MG Comet EV Safety Features That Build Confidence

Even though the Comet EV is small, it does not skip on safety. Standard dual front airbags and ISOFIX child anchors protect occupants, while ABS with EBD, ESC, HHC, and EPB ensure stable and controlled driving.

Rear parking sensors and a reverse parking camera make tight parking situations easier, and the TPMS keeps you informed about tire pressure at all times.
